Photographers of the Otter Valley Community Events

6:00 PM| Straffordville Library

The club is open to anyone with an interest in photography.  There is a small annual fee for membership, but the meetings are open and free, so if interested, come to a meeting or two and then decide if you wish to join. Guests are welcome!

Meetings are held monthly, usually on the first Tuesday of each month, starting at 6:00 pm and are held at the lower level of the Straffordville Library, 9366 Plank Road, Straffordville. The meetings end before 8:00 p.m. when the Library closes.

During the month preceding each meeting there is a challenge topic.  Our challenge for this meeting is 'Depth of Field Extremes'.  Members are encouraged to create photographs during the month that are in some way relevant to the topic.  Those images, and others that members wish to share are brought to the meeting for viewing.  Show and tell also includes any subjects that members wish to share, such as ideas for outings, new technology, new gadgets, or other images.  As the club is small, discussions are informal.

Test Your Smoke Alarm Day – “Saved By The Beep”

Last year, the province of Ontario had 133 fire deaths which was the largest number in decades.

Most of these lives could have been saved if the residences would have had working smoke alarms.

In order to combat this senseless loss, the Ontario Fire Marshal is asking everyone in Canada to test their smoke alarms on September 28th, 2024.

It’s a very simple way to ensure your safety!

For more information, please visit the Fire and Emergency Services page on the Municipal Website at https://www.bayham.on.ca/municipal-office/fire-emergency-services/
